🇬🇧 The United States owe France $ 80M

Those are debts contracted by Americans since the time of Louis XIV.

During the talks about interallied debts, and especially about how much France owes the USA, this appeared :

In the times of Louis XIV, then of Lafayette, France lent the USA and spent for their freedom, sums totalling 300 millions of pounds (750 millions of Gold-Francs). 140 years later, this represents 100,000 millions of dollars.

During the World War, the USA lent France 3,340 millions of dollars and spent for her another 1,000 millions. This now represents 18,000 millions of dollars.

Note by me: so the title should be that the USA owe France 80 billions of dollars, not mere millions, shouldn’t it?
