This was (almost) the first film shot and projected in colour (in 2 colours). It lasted 8 minutes and showed real scenes filmed on the British shore, with the British process named Kinemacolor.

2 filters alternated on the film. Therefore, on the film, shot #1 was shot through red filter, shot #2 through blue-green filter, shot #3 through red filter, and so on.

This video is composed of 4 chunks of 1’40’’ each :

  • 1st one is: all shots as B&W;
  • 2nd (starting around 1’40’') is: each shot is coloured either in red or blue-green, and pairs of images are superposed;
  • 3rd (starting around 3’20’') is: shots are alternatively coloured in red or blue-green, and showed sequentially – it blinks hard, but that’s pretty much how it was projected;
  • 4th (starting around 5’) is: a pleasant computer recreation that extrapolates each colour on the next shot, so that there are neither superposition errors, nor blinking.
